My Visit To Islamabad

Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan. It is a beautiful city full of delightful scenes. The lofty shopping plazas and amusements parks are great attraction for visitors and tourists. The surface of Islamabad city is not plain but the ups-and-downs make it more interesting. One day, I was assigned the task to write an essay on "My Visit To Islamabad" by my jovial maternal J Uncle. Having found the calm and quiet corner in one of the rooms in his house located in Private Housing Colony (name not mentioned), I commenced to write the essay.

When my journey towards Islamabad lasted, it was Thursday afternoon. Having reached the Faizabad station(bus station), the arrival of my J Uncle was delayed by 10 minutes who was on his way to pick me up. In the car, I was met by a jolly uncle-friend of my J Uncle. We had a bit of chit-chat until he was dropped in front of his house. On reaching the J Uncles' house, I was met by five radiant faces-three shining stars, dazzling princess and, noble and loving aunt. The same day, H Uncle and his family arrived.

Next day, we offered Juma Prayer and played hide-and-seek in the evening whereas the H Uncle departed for Nathia Gali(mountain resort town or hill station) along with his family.

On Saturday, the dazzling princess got admission in new school. We set off to visit the gigantic shopping mall "The Centaurus". It was the masterpiece of architecture skills and beauty. The glittering shops and, cafes and restaurants were source of entertainment for visitors. We also visited F-9 park and played football and cricket. The sportsman skills of my J Uncle were exhibited and they speaks volumes of his versatility in every field. We offered Magrib prayer in Faisal Mosque. The grandeur of the palace and ornamentation particularly impressed me.

On Sunday, the naughty and wicked chimpanzee welcomed H Uncle and nine youngsters with his spits and dispersed soil in the Zoo. After that we visited Safari Park that was desolated (undergoing some sort of renovation). The absence of animals and rugged place was very disappointing. Later, we visited Japanese Park and Lake View Park. My utmost desire to visit Pir Sohawa(tourist resort,3000+ ft elevation) was crowned. Standing at the peak of Pir Sohawa, the captivating and bewitching scenes of Islamabad city at night among flashes of lightening, bursts of thunder followed by heavy rain was very awesome. We ate dinner at "The Monal Restaurant".

For the next three days, we played in the park at evening. The visits to the roof with my cousin Abdul Rehman were entertaining. Those visits were full of terror of the sudden arrival of J Uncle as he could admonish us because we were forbidden to visit the boundless roof. Fortunately, we never got caught. The shrieks and yells of cousins followed by fights were quiet amusing and entertaining. After staying for eight days, I set off for my home with a bulk of memories, I may say Treasure.

The Adverse Affects Of Narcotics And Our Responsibility

Narcotics are drugs that can cause addiction even if taken in small quantity. All narcotics are addictive. Some of the major types of narcotics are opium, codeine, heroin, marijuana, tar etc. These are harmful to the severe. They can be beneficial to the body if it is used in medical drugs but mostly it is taken illegally. Problems arise when people become addictive to a particular drug. Usually people take narcotics to relieve tension, depression or boredom.
Students of today are the future nation. They are responsible to run the next government successfully by their expertise. A student could be successful in life if he studies well and keeps a good company. If he keeps a bad company, he will definitely spoil his career. His bad company will suggest him to take drugs.
If he is refusing, they start teasing him. So, as to share his experience, he starts to take drugs.
Some students take these as a sign of maturity, social-status and adulthood. Some think that happiness and success are interlinked with taking drugs. Some of them want to overcome their weaknesses such as failures in sports or studies. Some students take drugs out of curiosity. They want to taste the taste of drugs and to share it with their friends. Afterwards, they suggest their friends to take in small quantity, but as it is addictive, they find it difficult to stop taking drugs. Some take them just for fun.
A person using drugs will face multiple problems such as personal and family related. In the list of personal - conscious loss, appetite loss, irritation & senselessness are at the top. He will become addictive to it and if he ever try to stop taking them, he may have to face withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms include numbness in body parts, becoming sleepless, irritable, drowsiness, inability, to concentrate at anything.
Narcotics are addictive that reduces the pain of the man taking them. In the beginning it seems that we are escaping from worries and tensions, but unfortunately that is extremely illusion. With the passage of time we become habitual of that. The effect of that it reduces our thinking to zero level and finally we become impartial even to our every deep relations. These affect the central nervous system and alter his mood and behavior. He feels himself happy in any condition without any reason. The after effects of codeine include dizziness, weakness, lethargic and loss of conscious. The after effects of opium include respiratory complications, low blood pressure and malnutrition. People taking heroin may face nausea, loss of appetite etc. Narcotics are also used for relaxation, pain relief, inducing sleep and sedation.

The worst effect of narcotics is bad health. Health once lost is difficult to regain especially in such case. It also results in loss of money. In order to gain money a person may use illegal ways such as snatching of purses, mobiles, robbery, sell out etc and makes his mind to the ground level of corruption. These drugs are also harmful for brain. They cause drowsiness of muscles of the body.
We as students should be aware of adverse effects of narcotics. It is our responsibility to tell our friends of its bad effects. In most cases it is used by students because they are unaware of its bad effects.
It is the responsibility of parents to keep an eye on activities of their children and the habits of their friends because a dirty fish can spoil the whole pond. The teachers should also circularize awareness among students about adverse effects of narcotics.
Anti-narcotics team should take steps to control the production of narcotics. They should limit its export and import for medicine use only.

I took part in national competition and wrote this essay before the mid of 2011. Unfortunately, it wasn't up to the mark and may be somehow thrown in the basket of junk. However, it paved my way as it was my first writing.
