Following is the speech I delivered in my school on 14th August 2011. Th e topic was " Independence Day Of Pakistan & The Role Of Students. " I could remember the huge round of applause as soon as I finished. ^^ It echoes whenever I think about it.
"14th August 1947 is the day of independence for the Muslims of sub-continent, and Pakistan came into being. This achievement was achieved by tremendous leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and uncountable sacrifices made by the Muslims of that age. In the independence of Pakistan, the youth played a key role by sacrificing their energetic lives and power. They sacrificed their lives for the sake of truth. They sacrificed their days of enjoyment for the establishment of this land. Our leaders underwent hardships and scarified their lives to save the tribes migrating to Pakistan, and at last Pakistan came into being.
Pakistan- The dream of Allama M. Iqbal, has not come into being. No doubt Pakistan, our destiny is that Pakistan where law and order will be obeyed by the rule of God. There would not be corruption, brotherhood would be everywhere, respect would be given to elders and women. There would be justice, equality, harmony, peace, love, and discipline. Life would not be burden for anyone. Food and shelter would be available to everyone. There would not be terrorism, poverty, illiteracy, and corruption.
Now, we are students and students are a great strength of a nation. We have to think about it, we have to solve all these problems. We have to change it and the process should be started by ourselves. Each person has a unique place in the world. Hence, if each person does his bit to change himself and his surrounding, it will be very easy to change the country. Just accusing others or society is not the real solution to solve it. Once we start changing, we will find that people around us and the environment would automatically start changing by induction.
First of all, the students have to pay full attention to their education. They should obey their teachers and parents. There would be no fair mean in examination and those who have started or will start their job, should fulfill their responsibility with honesty. They should do their work without taking bribery and corruption. Educated people should take part in politics.
If we start acting upon these solutions, then Pakistan would fly on the track of progress and finally would be in the list of first world countries.
God bless you and God bless Pakistan."
